Got the Couldn't Load XPCOM box. Too late to save bookmarks? If not, how do I do it?
See above. Issue is on a laptop computer. Bookmarks are precious representing much work. Cannot access internet at all on that computer. Going through different computer to ask questions. Therefore please don't tell me "go to....." any internet site on the laptop because I cannot. The data below is NOT from the computer that's in question; rather, it's from the one I'm using to ask the questions. The laptop is Windows 7.

Firefox comes in two or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And one folder in the profile of each user on the computer.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user folders would not be effected.
Using another computer, Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} onto a thumb drive. After, plug the thumb into your system. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/42.0/system-requirements/
fixed system-requirements version url since Firefox is at 42.0

This usually happens because of a failed Firefox update that left you with a mixture of old and updated files in the Firefox program folder.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- Download the Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and (re)install or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
