Opening Youtube makes Firefox unresponsive off-and-on.
I'm currently running FF 30.0 with Shockwave Flash 14.0.0.145 in Windows 8.1. Whenever I open Youtube, Firefox immediately becomes unresponsive for a few seconds, after which it alternates between being responsive and unresponsive. This is just from opening Youtube, not from trying to play videos even. I know that this sort of problem is fairly common, so I already tried disabling protected mode in my flash plugin and disabling hardware acceleration, but neither of these things has helped. Any suggestions on what I should try next are appreciated. Thanks!

Please try restarting Firefox in safe mode. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
Thanks, I tried that and youtube continues to have the same issue.
Do you keep a large history? "3-bar" Firefox menu button > History > Show Al History
You can also check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
