By the way, make sure your carrier supports 3G on the ZTE Open's bands (listed unofficially here as 850/900/1900/2100: http://www.gsmarena.com/zte_open-5320.php). On the old T-Mobile network (AWS/1700), you might only get EDGE speeds.

Please elaborate.... Where did you buy from, maybe you can contact them about your service.

You will have to contact the carriers to see if they allow you to bring in an unlocked phone. You will also require a SIM card. Depending on your location, there may be multiple carriers aside from Sprint and T-Mobile.

The ZTE Open requires GSM or UTMS cellular network. Cricket is CDMA: http://www.mycricket.com/support/faq/do-cricket-phones-use-a-sim-card

For this reason, I do not think you will be able to use your Cricket number, but you should call their customer service to be certain.

You can ask a GSM vendor like AT&T / GoPhone, T-Mobile, Straight Talk / Net10, etc., whether your Cricket number is portable. I think most numbers should be portable now.
