Support for transparent images when copy-and-pasting
hello! i'm looking for a way to adjust the settings, if there are any, to copy and paste PNG images with firefox and keep their transparency intact -- rather than the solid black it has now. as i understand it there's been similar issues as of 8 months ago, but i'm unsure if anything else has changed in that time.
i'm not a full-on graphic designer or anything but i do use this fairly often as an artist to look at references and such, and as someone who's recently switched to firefox from chrome (which does support this feature) i'd like to know if it's as easy as clicking something in a menu or if that's not an option altogether. thank you in advance to anyone willing to help!

Hello! I understand your concern about copying and pasting PNG images with transparency in Firefox. As of now, Firefox unfortunately doesn't support this feature directly through a simple menu option. However, there is a workaround you can try. When you paste a transparent PNG image, the solid black background might appear, but you can right-click on the image and select "Open image in new tab." This should open the image in a new tab with its transparency intact. From there, you can right-click on the image in the new tab and choose "Copy image" to copy it with transparency. I hope this helps you maintain the transparency of your images while using Firefox. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Thank you for using Firefox and supporting our community!

i'm glad there's at least a solution even if not a perfect one - i've tried it a bit and it works like a charm. thank you very much for your help!
this still doesn't work. still adds a black background.
Example image? What OS? What application are you pasting into?
I can copy the Firefox PNG logo on this page (without opening it in a new tab) and paste it with transparency intact into Paint 3D on Windows 10 or GIMP on Linux.
