When opening an backed up profile only see 'cache' files in local folder pane

I am trying to restore an old profile. The profile is 4-5 years old. I created a new profile using the Profile Manager and have pasted the old files into the new profile folder. When I start Thunderbird the files that appear in the Local Folders pane are not recognizable to me.

you have pasted your data into the wrong place, so it is displaying profile file names as folders.
