I cant open my downloads from the library and tried about:config but setting didnt show

I cant open any of the downloads in my download library. I went to the help forum which suggested changing a preference in the about:config settings (which had worked for someone else with same prob), but the particular setting suggested wasnt shown in my about:config list

Are you double-clicking the entries to launch them? And nothing happens?

If you click the folder icon at the right end of the entry to Open Containing Folder, is the download there? Or is that option not available?
