After an update, I can't find all my folders for 4 email accounts.--computer semi-literate

I'm only computer semi-literate, and Thunderbird has taken care of all my email accounts management until now. Suddenly I have a total blank in the left column which used to show my 4 accounts and all their folders. Even when I set VIEW/ALL FOLDERS it doesn't give me my 4 accounts. I cannot pick up all my emails. Help! I need to get to work
