Since updating to 7.0.1 I have been unable to open Firefox. It was working perfectly immediately prior and I have also not been able to start in safe mode.

Please see my response to Charmiea. I believe since we all have XP, that the new Flash 11 plugin is what is causing the problem.

I explain the steps I'm going to take in her post about FF freezing.

I'll come back and post the links, if you'd like to go back down to the top Flash 10 update, as I am. Flash 11 has very few users (according to Norton), plus it uses more ram.

My email lags on FF (Flash 11 plugin) and opens quickly on IE (ActiveX 10 update)...so I'm convinced it's the Flash 11.

Heading out to uninstall it now. Let me know if you want the links to uninstall Flash 11 and go down to 10's highest update, okay?

it is not adobe flash causing this. i installed adobe flash on version 4.01 without any issues. on 7.01 the plugin-container.exe is what actually freezes. this is what could be freezing. I use flash V11 without any ill effects when using 4.01. am currently doing some more settings testing on 7.01

It's not the Flash 11 plugin in my case.

I was under the impression that starting Firefox in safe mode would disable all plugins/add-ins etc. It still crashes before even looking like it's going to open.
