Something called Vista Anti-Spyware 2011 has popped up and I need to know how to get rid of it.

I ran Microsoft Essentials full scan and nothing came up. This thing is located on the bottom of my screen and the icon is a muli-colored shield. It keeps popping up messages warning me of a threat.
