Printing issues

In Internet Explorer I can highlight something and go to print and it could choose either the screen or what I highlighted. I have tried over and over and I am not able to do that in Firefox. I do not want to print the whole screen just a particular portion of it. How do I go about doing that.

Highlight part of the page, do {Ctrl + P} and select Selection under Print Range, then hit OK.
