When I try to search for something on Google using Firefox, I keep getting the message "cloudflare web-find.net has expired."

What is this and how do I get rid of it?

Apparently, I need to switch to Chrome, because I don't get it there!

That sounds like an addon or something in the past changed your search engine and funneled that through some service that's no longer up. You'd want to remove this search provider or addon, and reset your search preferences to something more current. The details are covered in: Add or remove a search engine in Firefox
