I have noticed for quite a long time (>1 year) that even though I have this setting correctly enabled to delete cookies and cache when closing the browser, when I reopen the browser, even after a computer restart, the data is still there. I have to manually direct the browser to delete these items for it to ever get rid of them. I have spent countless hours looking at the same settings, all correctly enabled, yet this feature just will not work. I am fully current with the latest updates for the browser and computer. I have checked, and double checked to make sure I don't have anything listed in the 'exceptions' list. It is, and always has been empty. Using Win11 Pro desktop, current version of FF is 146.0.1 (64-bit) as I write this. Seriously, what is going on? I even switched to another browser for a while and that browser's settings worked just fine and deleted all cookies and cache when closing.
