retrieving messages does not work - after update to the newest version and restart. I read all the hints on the help pages. My provider is GMX. The browser based program works well. Normally I can see at the bottom of the page that Thunderbird tries to download messages, then I see them listed. Now: nothing, no move.

What version of Thunderbird?

It is newest one: 102.3.1. I just replaced it by a downloaded version, but still the same problem.

Next information: I deinstalled the new version and put an old one (60.7.1.exe): now it works properly. What might be the fault in the application of the 102.3.1 version?

My GMX account gets mail in Version102. So I would guess the problem is your antivirus program or other software you have installed messing up because it does not recognize version 102. This is exceedingly common with security suite software firewalls from places like Norton, AVG, Avast etc.

I would hate to think how many known security issues are in V60. Hundreds I would guess. Which is why no one recommends using old software.
