My browser has stopped closing using the left click button on my mouse. I have to right click and use the menu to close a tab. Can I do anything to enable the left click button to close a tab again?

It looks you are confused. If you left-click a tab then you select this tab. To close a tab you need to middle-click the tab with the mouse wheel.
