Hello Mubasshar,

The first thing that comes to mind is to maybe try an add-on :

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/extensions/appearance/

And then there is this article (not just about background - you'll have to scroll down some) :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-themes-change-look-thunderbird

Then I found this :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-change-thunderbird-layout

Any good ? Or not even close to what you want ...... (?)

In case you want to try an add-on : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-addon-thunderbird

Hi McCoy,

Thank you for the quick response but we are looking for some more advance stuff. Like

1- changing the email sorting order in thread view. 2- showing thread icon in from column instead of subject column. 3- Redesign the theme which is more close the apple mail app.

These are few of the changes which we are looking for. We need to know if there are resources available so our developers could read them and customize the thunderbird as per our requirement.

The first thing I was thinking was that you want Thunderbird to look like Apple Mail ...... (?) Each email client has their own features and look, which is what make them unique. But then : every user has their own wishes when it comes to features and look ....

Even though there may be one or two things on your "list" that we could find an answer for, I was thinking that maybe you'd be better off opening a new issue here :
