How to backup bookmarks fully

Since it's listed everywhere that sync is not a backup service (and I've had several issues with it) is there any way to actually backup the bookmarks on Firefox for Android? I've seen several older threads on this, but I haven't been able to find anything recent on it.

Login to your firefox account on a windows computer.

Your bookmarks will be sync and than click to the bookmarks menu, export them / generate a backup.

That´s it. Your mobile bookmarks are included.

Is there any way to do this without sync? Last time I tried that both my bookmarks on my phone and my computer got wiped, so I'd rather not risk that again.
