The Government Disclosure and Barring Service will not work with Firefox due to the TLS issue. They say I have to use Windows Explorer only!
Is there any way round this as the government won't change their systems obviously as this takes years and lots of wasted money?

hello Bullock, what's the error message that you are getting?
see screen shot
What country and Government is this ? And is any part of the site open to public viewing without requiring a login ?
OK crossed with earlier post. it is the UK see for instance http://www.crbonline.gov.uk
So it does seem it is open to the public, and specifically those that have made their own application.
Modified
thank you, so this is happening because the site still uses the rc4 cipher suite which are no longer considered secure and browsers have to stop supporting it according to https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7465
since this means that the website will fail in all modern browser versions soon, they will have to upgrade their security configuration: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=secure.crbonline.gov.uk
OK thanks. Once again government putting our data they hold at risk. So the matter will be resolved as they will soon have to meet the security requirements in the interest of data protection :)
