Manually installing...do we need to have pevious Firefox versions installed before installing the latest version?

We have found many versions ...NOTE: We perfer manual install...not auto updating.

Firefox 3.0.15, Firefox 3.5.2, Firefox 3.5.5, Firefox 3.6.10, Firefox 3.6.6, Firefox 3.6.9, Firefox 7.0.1, Firefox 8.0.1, Firefox 9.0.1, Firefox 10.0, Firefox 10.0.1, Firefox 11.0, Firefox 12.0, Firefox 14.01.

Could you please confirm whether we have to manually upgrade all the versions before manually installing the latest version (15.0.1).

If you are updating you only need to install the latest version of Firefox (15.0.1, but 16 is being released tomorrow). Once you are updated though, you should be able to use the internal updater, it does just as good of a job.

Note that the updater may not always remove the entry form the previous Firefox version from the uninstall key in the registry, so you may see older Firefox versions in Control Panel > Programs, but those older versions are no longer present on your computer.
Only the entries in the control Panel are left.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox (????)
