I can't sign in to my Google account and chrome is my preferred browser and I am getting messages saying that I am signed in to another browser. I want to try uninstalling Firefox and hope that will allow me to get signed in to my Google account.

Messages saying that you're signed in to another browser? I'm not sure how signing in to another browser could block anything. But you can remove Firefox of course.
