It is unfortunate that the version number of a firefox update available in android playstore is not displayrd. I am attaching 3 snapshots of playstore as images. Two show how the firefox app's latest update is silent about its version number, release date and reason for release. The third snapshot is of Gmail app which displays all information.

How to judge if the firefox update is a decoy or authentic?

I can confirm that is an authentic update. We gave recently released 114.2 that hopefully you should see very soon which corrects a few small defects that we have been advised of.

I request you to escalate the issue that a firefox update version number, release date, link to release notes must appear inside the android playstore so that users across the world don't have to ask question on Mozilla forum everytime a firefox update is released.

I saw on firefox website that the latest android firefox version is 114.0, but mine is already 114.1. Please see attached screenshot. What is truth, Is a bogus firefox installed on my android. I haven't yet updated the firefox.

That is not a bogus update we just need to make our release documentation better. I will feed this back to Mozilla staff.

Now my question has become even more grave. Please see the screenshot image I posted last. My android firefox version is 114.1, whereas the latest version on firefox website is 114.0. Now my question is whether the "firefox" on my android is counterfeit.

Please help as I am anxious.

If you have downloaded it from the Google Play store and the developer is Mozilla, it is legitimate.

Another thought struck me, a little late though, that the release notes on Mozilla website must mention the android firefox version, release date, update size as well. It's the update size which is first seen in the android playstore. Also add any more information that could help discern genuineness of the firefox update listed in playstore.
