bookmarks now saved automatically to library
Hello - I'd to know why bookmarks are now being saved automatically to Library vs allowing me to choose a specific toolbar folder, as I was able to before? This requires an extra uneccessary step to move my bookmarks into my specific folders, and I would like to fix this behavior.

Hi, you can turn the editor back on. On a bookmarked page, when the star is blue, click the star and then check the box for "Show editor when saving". Does that work on your Firefox?
Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately no, your suggestion didn't work and wouldn't solve the problem of preventing bookmarks now being saved as a default into the Library rather than allowing me to choose one of my folder tabs as in the past. This is something that needs to be fixed in Firefox.
So now that you turned on "Show editor when saving," does the panel drop down and let you choose a folder when you press Ctrl+D or click the star icon in the address bar? It certainly should. If you weren't able to use the checkbox, try it this way:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste editDialog and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.bookmarks.editDialog.showForNewBookmarks preference to switch the value from true to false and then double-click again to set it to true
If that doesn't work, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.) A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
