New user of Mozilla VPN, downloaded the Android app. Samsung phone running Andriod 10. I am unable to start the app; I click 'sign in' and I see a little spinning circle forever. (note: the VPN works fine on one of two windows 10 laptops.)

Trying to log in other ways (forget how) I ended up with a page that says:

Cisco Umbrella This site is blocked due to content filtering fpn.firefox.com

I use OpenDNS to keep kids from inappropriate content online, that company was bought by Cisco. So it looks like OpenDNS is blocking use of the VPN in Android.

Can this be resolved? DNS is more important to me than VPN, so if I had to choose I will skip the VPN. Thanks in advance.

Hi

That domain, specifically, fpn.firefox.com/vpn is needed in order for your firefox account to be recognized when you sign in on that device.

I took a quick look around OpenDNS site and knowledge base articles. It seems like one option here would be to allow the specific domain being blocked (fpn.firefox.com) in OpenDNS settings.

If the above is not an option or does not solve the issue, then it may be the appdata causing an issue. You would want to fully uninstall the app from your phone then download it again fresh and try logging in.

I hope this helps.

Thanks SUMOsJR. Unfortunately I use the free OpenDNS Familyshield; the free service does not allow me to authorize specific domain names.
