Since installation of the newest update channel release Thunderbird crashes every few minutes without an indication of the action causing it. A lot of error reports have been sent but no correction received until now.

Can you post the crash report? Help/Troubleshooting Information/All Crash Reports, post the link to the last few.

Do you have a custom notification sound in Tools/Options/General? What's your antivirus?
