Hi, the Awesome bar is one of Mozilla's names for the address bar - confusing I know; so I assume you actually want to remove the bookmarks bar: Right click in the tab bar (but not on a tab) and deselect Bookmarks Toolbar. Also see - Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window.
