I have reinstalled Thunderbird, no change. Crash occurs on Save attachment and Detach Attachment. not on Open or Delete attachment.

Relevant info: Machine failed to boot this morning, restored complete drive C (SSD) image from last night to recover. My profile is on Drive D and was not affected by the failure.

Would much appreciate advice on how best to recover normal operation. I get a lot of attachments in e-mail!

Later: discovered some other applications which also crash on open/save. Googling revealed that this is a Windows 10 issue. Fixed by installing the latest updates, which seemed to refresh whatever had gone bad.
