When trying to receive and send email Thunderbire asks for my ID & password, but states that it is the wrong id or password. I have verified them on yahoo.

Last week Thunderbird started asking for the id and password to get mail from my yahoo account and when I put in it said id and password were incorrect. I check Yahoo on line and both id and password were correct. What do I need to do to start getting my Yahoo email on Thunderbird again?

There were a number of people who complained about not being able to send messages via the Yahoo SMTP server recently. Check with Yahoo if they have problems.
