Add-ons Not available for Firefox for android

I was installing add-ons for a new phone (4.4.4 KitKat) and noticed that almost all add-ons (including featured add-ons, such as Phony, QuitNow, Adblock Plus, etc.) are "Not Available for Firefox for Android", with the Add to Firefox button greyed out.

I don't remember I had such a problem installing add-ons on my old phone. Is it that I have to wait for the developers to update their add-ons or there is something wrong with my new phone?

Firefox for Android and Firefox desktop are very different from one and another. Extensions need to be specifically customized to work with Firefox for Android.

I just read that we are experiencing an issue with the addons.mozilla.org site where Firefox for Android is blocked from installing extensions. I don't have a time frame for it to be resolved. Though I will try to update this thread when the problem is fixed.
