When I am on my thunderbird email page and switch to page where I used to find my address book. Now all I see is an option to create a new address book. What happened to my old address book? screen shot.HEIC. screen shot.HEIC.pdf

Is this still possible in Release 153 because I cannot find how using this suggestion:

Open Thunderbird, click the Address Book button, select the specific contact list, go to Tools > Export , choose Comma Separated (.csv) as the file type, and click Save.

I updated t the latest version of Thunderbird but since then none of my email addresses were changed with the update. Tried all the advice on line but still can't retrieve my saved email addresses from the inbox and sent box

I utilize a program to scan business cards and need to add these contacts into my contact list in Thunderbird. I know how to add them if the VCF Card is received inside an email as an attachment, but I do not see any instructions on how to add it if it is found locally on my computer or received by text, etc. Thanks in advance, Ken

Maybe I have not found where to set it, otherwise it is a .change request.

When creating a new message and entering a name in the “To” field, all email addresses for the recipient are displayed for selection. - Order as in the address book - The one marked as “Default” is neither the first nor identifiable as such. I prefer to have the Contact Name only display in the TO: field of composed or outgoing emails. I already know their address is correct in my Address Book, why do I need to see it? Presently, the TO: field shows "Name <email address>", as shown in the first uploaded image.

I am a new user to Thunderbird and I have reviwed, and believe, set all the Settings correctly that I could find on the subject (see second uploaded image), but the results do not change.

What am I missing?

I'm wondering how I'm able to open open an address book file (Thunderbird) with a separate program other than the Thunderbird Email Client?

Any Ideas Please?

Edit address book entry displays only DELETE and CANCEL at the bottom of the edited entry. The rightmost border may be obscured as the display does not allow for scroll.

Some of my emails have had the original correspondent's name changed to random one. The email contains the original information. Example: AJ Ket... changed to Kaiser. Please assist. Thank you.

Using the Import function in TBird doesn't work for me - I'm not clued up enough to edit the columns and I don't have all the same columns in my Outlook contacts. The import function says it's done and TBird shows 1972 entries, but nothing is visible. when I looked at the pdf version of the import, I could see the mess of the columns and gave up. PLEASE is there some simple way to do this. I'm trying to let go of Outlook because it doesn't download my gmail anymore. Thank you for any help.

Currently using 140.7.1esr (64-bit) and having problem with more than one contact having same email address. Looking at copy of sent email and address names are same, but floating over each the embedded are the correct names. Do recipients see same address?? Who is receiving the email -- very confused?? Would like to see correct names.

I just had to reinstall Thunderbird on my computer. Somehow after being away for a year and firing up my computer Thunderbird advised best to reinstall. I was able to get some of my contacts but not all. Thought it would be simple to just export my Thunderbird address files from my Windows laptop and import it to my Thunderbird app on my windows computer. Seems obvious and simple but not so for me. The suggested solutions do not work. Am I missing something?

One of my two computers had to be restored from hard drive failure. Thunderbird has been reinstalled, but the previous addressbook is no longer there. How to I restore the contacts of my previous address book. If I have to export the address book from my other computer, can I export only the address book?

Bug?: In Address Book, I create a new Group list. In several of my Contacts, the individual has two different email addresses. I successfully add a person with their Primary email address.

BUT, when I try to add a secondary email (i.e., add the same person a second time but using their non-primary email address), the Group List will re-list the primary address a second time and not accept a secondary email address.

Is there a fix for this?
