1. How to move mail between two different Macbooks with different OSX and different versions of Thunderbirds?

How do I move my email profiles (there are several) from an old Mac to a new one, when the old Mac can't be upgraded anymore and the Thunderbird versions don't match?

Old Macbook OSX Monteray 12.7.4 can not go any higher on OSX due to hardware not being compatible Thunderbird 140.5 Oesr 64 bit - don't know if it can be updated or not, but expect not. Minimizing run time as much as I can because the fan is going nuts and I think the battery is going - gets very hot.

I copied all the different profile folders from the Old Mac to an external drive. However, I don't think I can just plop them in to the new Profiles folder on the New Mac, given the Thunderbird versions and OSX version don't match.

New Macbook OSX Sonoma 14.1 Thunderbird 153.0.2 aarch64 Not updating to Tahoe yet because then I can't use my 2019 MS Office products - need to save up to update those first

All I need is e-mail - not calendars, contacts etc., although it might be nice to to have those Thanks in advance

2. How to .pdf old emails (With attachments) Also, the profiles folder is huge (219 GB), with multiple profiles and I want to save old emails (with attachments) into .pdf and appreciate advice on what .pdf converter/file converter would be best. It doesn't have to be free. It does need to respect my privacy.

Frustrated that told to do this do that, and more of stuff I don't understand. Change this, Change what. No matter what how many times i change this or that nothing helps. i have a big headache, and it isn't right to put so much stupid crap that I dpn't understand at all. Nothing is simple; it's not simple. I already paid a $20.00 for a donation so I can use Thunderbird. I can't even use the freaken Thunderbird. I can't figure out what the heck who ever expects me to do this, do that, than more of the same. All I want, is to be able to use Thunderbird, transfer all my emails to Thunderbird. Use the Thunderbird without alot of crazy ass questions, that I have no answers. If this is diffcult to read imagine how I feel. It should be so difficult to use anything, but it sure is. Even writing this, what do I gain, nothing, go away, lose the money I donated for Thunderbird. I would really really appreciate any help to help me sit up this thunderbird email. I really would. Help, dispirited what can I saw. Once this note or what ever is send. It my all be in vein. Tom You can't email, because Firefox screwed that up. I installed Thunderbird a few months ago to transfer emails from an email account that is about to be shut down to my Google email account.

I now want to uninstall Thunderbird (and delete all its files from my computer, including emails) but am worried my Google emails will also get deleted (e.g., due to syncing?) in this process.

I would have loved to keep Thunderbird installed but, due to my personal laptop being unavailable when this email transfer began a few months ago, I had to install Thunderbird on my work laptop instead, and I do not want Thunderbird to stay on my work laptop anymore (my employer allows employees to install any software but I will feel better if I just delete Thunderbird from the work laptop at this point).

Moving Thunderbird to a different computer. Email provider, email address and passwords are the same. Thunderbird setup thinks I'm a new user, which I'm not. How do I solve this issue. [edited email from community support forum]

Goal: I have outlook on a windows 10 desktop with many .pst files I want to keep (emails in folders and contacts)/import into TB. I want to set up Thunderbird on a new laptop PC and use TB instead of Outlook.

I'm setting up Thunderbird first on my desktop but I don’t know how to import the outlook files – one Q&A answer says first install an older version of TB that can do the outlook import (I started this and it couldn’t find my account so I got stuck); another Q&A answer says the outlook files have to be ‘offered’ to Thunderbird and may or may not be.

Can I have human help? I’m happy to pay. Otherwise I don’t think I can figure it out and I’ll just stick with Outlook. I see someone else switched to TB and then went back to Outlook. Hmmm. I wonder why?

I read the instructions on moving my profile to a new computer. The hitch is that on my current, Windows 10 computer, I’m apparently using a 32-bit version of Thunderbird. I only discovered this when I updated it (through Help) and saw that it updated to a December, 2024, 32-bit release. The transfer instructions state that there may be a problem if I try to use a Thunderbird profile from one version to a different version. To prevent that possibility, I either have to update my Windows 10 Thunderbird to the latest, 64-bit release, or specify the 32-bit install on Windows 11. Problem is, I don’t know whether or how I can update Windows 10 computer to latest Thunderbird 64-bit version. Can I? If not, will Windows 11 run a 32-bit release? Suggestions?

I've done it many times - copy the folder under Profiles to a big memory stick, copy that into Profiles on my other (travel) computer, and all is well. But this time, I got the "old version of T-Bird" message. Nothing I try fixes it. I made sure that both computers downloaded today's versions. It keeps giving me the "old version F you" message. Help!!!!

Trying to remove Thunderbird. Windows add or remove programs isn't working. I'm trying Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter, which needs Thunderbird's product code.

I can't find it on the site. Can someone give me a hand?

I downloaded Thunderbird into a new computer and there are a lot less emails than on the old computer. I cannot find a setting to download the rest of the emails. Can you please help. Please send me an email telling me if I can download the rest of them.

I had to restart my Mac. When TB restarted during relaunch of the Mac, it was like TB starting fresh. It didn't display my email accounts, or my folders with saved emails, etc.

I quit TB and looked for it in my Applications folder - and I found two versions of TB. Inside the Thunderbird folder was version 140.9.0esr. Outside the Thunderbird folder was version 150.0. See attached screen grab.

I thought I should try launching the newer version (which was outside the folder). So I moved the 140.9.0 version to the trash, then launched the newer version – and it had the same problem. It looked like I was starting TB from scratch.

Next I quit TB (the newer version) and moved the older version out of the trash and back into the TB folder and double-clicked on it. A dialog box popped up saying that the file is damaged and can't be launched.

So I tried launching the newer version again, and it still looks like starting from scratch.

I really hope somebody can help me solve this. I can't access any of my email accounts or any of my stored emails. I use email for work (as most of us do), so this is crippling me.

I wanted to install Thunderbirds on my Ipad (Apple Air). In the AppStore I didn‘t found a Link for a Download, - so I used a downloadlink in the Internet. About 149,…MB. After the complete Download I couldn‘t install the Programm on the IPad. The Icon is „grey“ designed and seems to be not activatable. I‘ve had the same problem with libre office.bold text
