Thunderbird won't start properly for second user on Ubuntu

T'bird does not open properly for the second user. A window rectangle appears and the title line is correct. However, the rest of the window is transparent. I can't even move the window; I can only do a Force Quit. The first user has to logout before the other user can use T'bird. O/S is Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS 

My graphics set up is: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730/PCIe/SSE2
