Why can't I successfully update Firefox?
Hi. The computer I'm having trouble with at the moment is a fairly new MacBook Air with OS X 10.11.3 .... El Capitan. I downloaded Firefox (48) right away when I got it and have been using it as my preferred browser. Recently starting getting alerts that I could update to Version 49. After some glitches, managed today to get the update done and even checked several times by clicking on "Firefox", then "About Firefox", and every time the pop up box said "Firefox 49" and "Firefox is up to date". However, a few minutes ago, after being offline for awhile, I went on and once again received the "alert" to update. So now when I click on "About Firefox" I'm back to Version 48. No idea what's going on. Your help would be extremely appreciated .... thank you.

Version 49 was released but recalled because of problems. For now, stay with v48.

The problems are mainly on Windows though.
And there is a Firefox 49.0.1 version to fix Websense related crashes. But 49.0.1 might be just for Windows OS's.

Thanks for the response. It is helpful in a way, but does bring up further questions.
