What AI features you can control
Artificial intelligence (AI) includes a wide range of technologies. Some, like autocomplete, have been around for years. Newer features use generative AI to summarize content, translate pages, or support voice input.
The AI Controls section focuses on newer AI-powered features and lets you turn them off.
Included features
You can control the following features in Firefox for Android:
- Shake to Summarize: Summarize webpages by shaking your device.
- Translations: Translate webpages into your preferred language (available in supported regions only).
- Voice search: Use speech-to-text from the search bar to perform searches using your voice.
- AI-related notifications: Suggestions or prompts that introduce or promote AI features.
- AI-related experiments: Experimental features delivered through Firefox studies.
Turn off all AI features
You can turn off all AI-powered features with a single setting.

When this setting is enabled:
- All AI features are disabled
- You won’t see prompts or notifications about AI features
- Future AI features will also be blocked
