Recently updated the app and now the search bar is broken and doesn't show any suggestions from the web/engine. It doesn't matter what engine I'm using as I've checked multiple to see if the problem persists. The only thing that works is Firefox suggest and all it brings up is some obscure random searches from my browsing history from years ago instead of suggestions from the Web on top. If I enter settings, toggle things on and off, then return to new tab then it will work for one time, but then it's back to how it was.

When using the search assist, which I do a lot, and then use the "more" button as it's loading more and I am reading through a window pops up and auto scrolls down to the new text box that asks for further questions. I do not see the point in this at all and find it very tedious, is there anyway to stop this?
already summarize. please aid me. I am using a unwell Google ( told on googles help) sort of tired messing with it when the Google decides it wants to mess up.

When I open a new tab on Android as of a few weeks ago there are no suggestions, except to swap to a previous tab with a similar name to what's in the address bar. If I hit the search drop down to the left of the address bar or hit enter in the tab and retry typing suggestions appear. See attached images for reference.

This is feedback, not a question.
If you're typing into the combination search/address bar and the suggestion being presented is a whole URL, load the stupid page instead of searching for it.
Example: when activating a service like YouTube on a smart tv you have to type a URL like youtube.com/activate. As soon as you start typing it the search suggestions come up with that option. But if you're stupid enough to click it, thinking oh this will save me some time, you get tricked. It instead searches for the url and the top result is never the actual page you want. So then you have to start over and make sure you type the entire URL yourself, because God forbid the suggestions actually be helpful. So just make the browser recognize that I'm trying to type a URL into the bar that those of us over 35 remember being actually for friggin urls and stop making it search for everything.
Why is duck duck go or google appearing in firefox address bar even though i selected firefox as my default browser

If I hit back and then enter it repeats the behavior. If I hit back and prepend a ? then it relays the entire line with the ? included to my search engine.
I think there is an issue with the auto complete because it is not indicating that it is actually completing but that seems to be what is happening.
Maybe this is also related to the cursor lag I have seen lately in the search bar. You can be typing and it will display letter out of order or seemingly so until it catches up. Basically the cursor doesn't move in the search bar like it used to. That's been going on for over a month.

A website has moved a while ago, but when I type in the first few letters, I still get the URL to the now defunct site suggested. I tried long-pressing the entry under "Firefox Suggest", but do not get any options to remove it.
Since the defunct URL starts with the same 10 or so characters as the new one, I always have to type a lot to get to the correct page. On the other hand, I use it to rarely to warrant a bookmark.

I am using Firefox Nightly 144.0a1 (Build #2016111007) on Andoird 14. In the Search Settings, the Show Trending Sugfestions option is ticked/selected by default and can not be unticked or disabled. And if I disable "Show Search Suggestions" option under "Suggestions from Search Engines", it will also disbles the feature of searching bookmarks and synced tabs from Address Bar (even though This option is seperate in the Search Settings under Address bar - Firefox Suggest).
So right now to search from Address Bar, I have to manditorily Turn ON Show Search Suggestions Option, which starts showing Trending Search Suggestions (which is very annoying and useless for me). Kindly fix this and provide options where user can Enable Search Suggestions for Local Bookmarks or Synced Tabs without forcing user to enable Trending Search Suggestions from Search Engines.
I want to delete a single row of Firefox Suggest website easily by long pressing. (Firefox on Android)
Topic title. Autocompletion of urls in address bar is broken, can't navigate lazily by typing two letters anymore.

While in chrome browser (android) when i type something in the address bar like "shah" it gives me suggestions "Shahrukh Khan" also brief intro "Indian actor and producer" as well as associated brief image or when i type "interst" it gives an suggestion "interstellar" 2014 movie as well as a brief image. But this feature is missing in Firefox android. When i type "shah" it just gives suggestion "Shahrukh Khan" as a plain text, i tried multiple search engines but this remains same. This feature is also present in browsers other than chrome, like lemur, kiwi browser, opera etc. How can i get the same chrome functionality in Firefox, or is there an extension that can do it. This is the sole reason that's preventing me to switch my ecosystem to Firefox completely.

Why is it that when I type in part of an url in firefox search, for example "surf" when I'm wanting to visit r/surf, firefox suggests threads I viewed a single time rather than r/surf that I view multiple times per day?
You can see in chrome it behaves more like you would expect.
Sometimes plain r/surfing will be there but most of the time not, it's just random threads I viewed a single time.
There doesn't seem to be any combination of search settings that makes it suggest more frequently viewed sites
