I have 3 sites in my homepage settings. First two, I keep pinned. Third is a regular tab. When I close and reopen firefox, for whatever reason it will open duplicates of the 2 pinned tabs, as regular tabs. So I have 2 pinned tabs and 3 regular tabs instead of 2 and 1. Why is this happening?

Using Firefox nightly. Happens on regular Firefox stable release too.

That is the result of having those pages set as multiple home pages. Firefox will open the full set in new tabs and not use the pinned tabs.

You would have to remove the other pages from the home page setting or add the page(s) that you want to open in a new tab to the Firefox desktop shortcut with the -new-tab command line switch.
