I am unable to click in Firefox unless I go to another browser and back to Firefox each time a new page opens

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

I am having a similar problem with ff 3.6.4 on windows 7. I can not click to switch tabs or see any suggestions on the address bar, google etc.
