Incorrect reminder 30 minutes before appointment
Hey! Unfortunately, all appointments are created with a reminder 30 minutes before the appointment, even though the default setting for reminders for appointments is turned off. In my opinion, there is an error here. Can that be the case? Or what am I doing wrong?
Many thanks and best wishes Johannes

Hi Just been testing your query on my system Windows OS Thunderbird version 128.3.3esr
When you say 'Appointments' - I'm assuming you are talking about 'Events'.
I'm only testing the 'Events' in the 'Home' default Thunderbird calendar.
In 'Settings > Calendar 'Default reminder setting for 'Events' set 'On' 'Default time a reminder is set before an Event' 1 day
In Calendar Click on 'New Event' Reminder says '1 day before'
In 'Settings > Calendar 'Default reminder setting for 'Events' set 'On' 'Default time a reminder is set before an Event' 1 hour
In Calendar Click on 'New Event' Reminder says '1 hour before'
In 'Settings > Calendar 'Default reminder setting for 'Events' set 'OFF' 'Default time a reminder is set before an Event' 1 hour
In Calendar Click on 'New Event' Reminder says 'No reminder'
As I change the settings, this will only effect any new events I create after the alterations in Settings. It does not effect any Events previously set up.
I'm not seeing a problem with default Reminder for Events.
However, I also have a gmail calendar.
Please note that when I select my gmail calendar and then click on 'New Event' In new Event window, it says: Reminder : 'Default Reminder'
This is not refering to the settings you have in Thunderbird. Google gmail account accessed via webmail using a browser. Default settings is 30 minutes before.
So not matter what I set up as default in Thunderbird, it will always use the google webmail default calendar setting meaning I either update gmail to say same as Thunderbird OR I have to alter the reminder each time I create an Event in the gmail calendar in Thunderbird.
So, is it possible you have Events in a calendar which is not the default Home Thunderbird calendar ?
If yes, then it's defaulting to whatever you have on server - you need to update that by logging on to the relevant webmail account /calendar via a browser.
