When I request Yahoo Mail, why does it come up uk.mg40.mail.yahoo.com
With Mozilla Firefox, whenever I ask it to bring up my Yahoo Mail, it tries to log in to uk.mg40.mail.yahoo.com I understand that this site is dangerous and need to know how to get rid of it. Can anyone help?
Chosen solution
Large webmail services tend to put mailboxes on a lot of different servers.
When I try to load https://uk.mg40.mail.yahoo.com/ I get a certificate error. When I expand the "Technical Details" it shows that Yahoo!'s certificate is valid for a large number of domains, such as
*.mg.mail.yahoo.com
but it is not valid for
*.mg40.mail.yahoo.com
So Firefox will not consider this certificate valid for
uk.mg40.mail.yahoo.com
But... why are you getting directed to that address? Do you end up there if you start with the Mail link on this page: https://uk.yahoo.com/

Thanks for our assistance. uk.mg40.mail.yahoo.com comes up every time I search using my Bookmark. Could this somehow be the problem?
Happy days - if I go to google and log into Yahoo.co.uk , I don't experience the problem. Must be the Bookmark! Many thanks
Yes, that's it. Yahoo is constantly moving things, so bookmarks unfortunately get out of date. It's especially bad if you set your home page to Yahoo mail. You can delete the old bookmark and save a new one that will work for... for as long as it works!
