In Calendar, when I reply with my availability for an event, it would be nice if I could specify whether I will be attending in person or remotely (by phone/web/video conference).

Good idea, but this is not the place to make the request. Bugzilla is the place. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Product is Calendar. Severity is Enhancement.

I could file it for you, but then you would be out of the loop and that is not optimal. If you file it an one of the developers has a question the person with the idea is there to clarify.
