Hello, So my thunderbird updated yesterday 10/1/2026 and since then it's changed my layout and also making problems in attaching documents etc. Is there a way to revert to the last version? Or does someone have a way to fix this problem?

Ever since the last update 157 when i open a conversation it open every single tab in that conversation and i hate that, cause i have to close every one to go to another email. this stupid updating thing is for the birds. Another thing that i really liked in past versions that whatever color tag i wanted to use would color the subject line now it just does a little symbol all the way on the right side. Can i uninstall a update by chance?

Firefox just forced a terrible update on me that makes everything look round and different and I hate it so much. I don't understand why they think people want things to change all the time instead of being allowed to get familiar with something and now have it change on you without even asking if you want it to change!

firfox updated this morrning. windows 10. now I keep losing the keyboard and mouse controls and have to reboot to recover them is there some way of restoring the previous version of fireefox??

About an hour ago Firefox auto updated to the latest and greatest version. It has ruined my online experience. It takes 5-10 or more seconds for a website to respond to my requests to do anything. Is there a quick way to go back to the previous version or do I need to uninstall the current version and then reinstall the previous version?

Hello, I'm pretty tired of Firefox updating itself without asking me or warning me, just telling me that it's going to force me to restart and kill all of my private windows without any chance of continuing browsing. I'd like to disable updates but it seems that they are forced upon the user regardless of choice. Is there a way to prevent them from happening? I managed to disable them on Linux by some miracle but can't find a way to do the same on Mac. I'd also like to remove the little popup that suggests updates every time I open it. No chance of that either? The browser is made for browsing and not for serving the needs of the browser. I really love what Firefox used to be but at this point I might as well switch to something else. The blatant disregard for user experience is what's killing me.

It would be greatly appreciated if the browser didn't update with adding a new default customization. If there's a way to revert back to the old browser, I would prefer that over the extra customization any day.

I'm assiting an elderly user of Thunderbird. We were trying to update his saved password but the menu items did not match my current version 153.3.1esr. When I asked him to check his version he had options to update from v52. He went through 3 update cycles to v78 when all his data had disappeared. I found some information at: https://support.mozilla.org/mk/questions/1312391 which seemed to put the issue at a file format change in v78. When he looked at the profile folders the most recent was created in 2024. (I couldn't get him to find a modified date more recently.) When he closed Thunderbird and used the Run command "Thunderbird.exe -P" we couldn't find a way to select that most recent profile folder. Are you able to give me instructions I can use in a Windows remote (quick) assist session to restore his data from the profile folder?

Alternatively, is it possible to downgrade back to v68 of Thunderbird; would this restore his data (account settings, emails, contacts/address book etc?

I dont want Firefox latest update as it has destroyed my history, my bookmarks, and my profile. It has also slowed access to videos and browsing among websites. I can no longer open more than one window at a time for more than a few minutes before Firefox stalls ... just stops working . no crash message... nothing just a single dead window. I must then unplug my computer. I cant even get back to my windows start. My internet provider confirms that I am getting top speed; my tech says that all other single programs like Word and Excel function at lightening speeds but not if they are open in conjunction with an internet website. This problem occurred sometime the week of September 12th when a Firefox update was installed. Now I am prevented from accessing the internet UNLESS I ACCESS THE UPDATE and refigure it. How do I uninstall this update as I need to access videos for a university class and run Word at the same time which is impossible now! dona bretherick

I installed Ubuntu 26.04 on one of my laptops. I want to import my Thunderbird profile from another computer running mx linux. This one has 140.16.0esr(64 bit). I've been advised to make sure I have the same version on both computers to avoid compatibility issues. The new OS installed 156.01. How do I get the same version on the mx linux computer?

Hi! I'm hoping you can help me! I use Thunderbird, and have for many years, and I love it. My computer is on its last legs, and I'm trying to save up for a new one, but, yesterday I did something possibly stupid... (yeah, I know, you NEVER get people asking for help who've done stupid things, so this will be unusual... lol). Anyway... I turned my computer on and got a popup saying that my Thunderbird needs an update and it's been a while since I updated, so I hit OK on the update... Well, my arsehole of a computer chose that exact minute to shit itself and die. When I tried restarting it, my Thunderbird no longer works. Now I have a popup with a big red X that says "The installation seems to be corrupt. Please check your hardware and disk setup and/or re-install." Can you help me? I desperately need to check my email and have one I need to send. I don't know what to do. I've also got YEARS worth of emails sitting in the system, so I can't risk losing them, either. Please help. Getting too many Fire Fox pop-up messages to update and restart.

Any way to prevent so many, or do updates once a month, or turn it off?

Cannot do my work on laptop when important tabs are open and get the annoying pop up to update sometimes 3 times a week

Sometimes restart does not bring back all tabs, or where sites and paragraphs you were reading

And seems if you do not update, they corrupt your computer functioning

All over this site it says how great it is and what it does but no where does it say what the current version is or even what the version of the downloads are. You tube says multiple versions are not playable on this version yet this is the current version i am using. Software developers have really hit low levels of Not KISS.
