I have a Mac with OS 10.5.8. I have Firefox 3.6.28. For reasons too long to mention I had to reinstall Firefox. I'm not sure what the previous version was. I am no longer able to use the pinterest bookmarklet. It worked fine before the reinstall. The bookmarklet works fine in other browsers.

Another option to consider is to install the last Firefox 10.0.x ESR version as that version is more recent than the Firefox 16.0.2 version.

Firefox 17 ESR has replaced the Firefox 10 ESR version, so disable automatic updating and do not update manually.

The latest version of Firefox available for OS X 10.5.x is Firefox 16. You can find a link to that version in the "downgrade" section in this article: Install an older version of Firefox.

Did you try deleting and re-adding the Pin It button from the Goodies page?
