Can't set some toolbars to show icons and other to show just text (could do this in 3.6)
Customizing the toolbars to show icons or icons + text seems to be an all or none option but in 3.6 I could separately customize different toolbars and I found this useful, especially since my bookmarks toolbar now stretches beyond the width of the browser window since, using the icons only option, it shows both icons and text (names of bookmark folders).

You can remove icons from the bookmarks toolbar with the Bookmarks Deiconizer extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmarks-deiconizer
Thanks much TonyE for the heads up. This makes 4.0 a whole lot better for me.
