Why can't I see pictures on a webpage icon buttons at the top of the page disappear too!
When I load a webpage I can see everything fine then after a while the photo's/pictures disappear, so does the 'back' and 'home' buttons at he top of the page, only text remains!

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
