I have downloaded firefox but no welcome screen has come up to install it

I downloaded firefox 3.6 onto my laptop Windows 7 version 4 times now by pressing 'run' like it says. It downloads it then nothing else happens. I have searched my computer and there are no files with 'firefox' in the name. Thanks

If you are running an earlier version of Firefox, on the Firefox Menu you can click Help > Check for Updates.

Otherwise, download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive. Close whatever browser you are using when the download is complete. Click on the installer you just downloaded to install Firefox.
