Refresh functionality is only available in the desktop version while you posted in the iOS forum. Can you clarify which platform are you referring to?

Thank you my naivety is now showing: I am using a laptop and it is a Mac laptop: made the assumption that ios forum was for mac users? I stumbled around in the firefox settings and the duckduckgo settings and realized that the 'save addresses (if that was the correct language) was not selected: I have never refreshed Firefox before and I see that I had to re-enter passwords when I started it up again. I just checked duck.ai and it seems that I may have solved this mystery... and I say it with a bit of lack of confidence. in other words.. I think it is OK now. this all started with firefox displaying a 'ghost' ribbon band across the top of the window (made it hard to use the search function) refreshing solved that glitch. Again thank you for responding

iOS is the mobile OS for iPhone and earlier iPads as more current ones uses the similar iPadOS.

The Mac desktop and laptop uses macOS.
