Startup of Thunderbird creates a "Thunderbird" directory in my home

Every since updating to Thunderbird 147.0.1, I have noticed that every time I start Thunderbird, it creates a directory called "Thunderbird" in my home directory! This didn't happen before the update and I have a '.thunderbird' directory in my home already! I had a search in the settings for the term "directory" but did not find anything that seemed related. But it seems to be caused by some new setting that has become activated with the update.

I am on an Arch GNU/Linux operating system, if any further information is necessary to help debug this, please let me know. Thanks a lot in advance :-).

Thanks a lot for the pointer to the bug; I look forward to the fix. Since the developers already know-about and are working on it, I consider this question solved.
