Hello, you keep coming up with new and different ways to use Firefox, but you are not able to fix it to where Firefox can be used with too many websites. I am constantly having to use Microsoft Edge to connect to Hulu and The Hartford Ins. Co., just to name two which I use frequently. I don't like it, especially the problem with Hulu, which I use a lot, being retired. There are several other websites with which I have problems when I use Firefox, but can't think of them right now because I use them much less frequently.

I would be eternally grateful if you could get those problems fixed once and for all. Oh yeah, I do contribute do Mozilla once or twice per year.

Thank you, Gabrielle Pine [email address]

Hi there,

Here are our standard steps that should help you troubleshoot the issues and later report them if they persist. Could you please follow them?

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon at the left of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it. Does the problem persist?
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache. Does it help?
  3. If it does not help, also try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website). Does it help?
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?
  5. Finally, if the problem is still not fixed, please check if it persists in other browsers (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Opera or Safari).
    • If it does, it is most likely an issue on the website's side. You may want to inform the website owner or administrator about that.
    • If it doesn't, that's a compatibility issue. Please report it on WebCompat, so that our team there may be able to look into it. We'd also appreciate posting a link to your report here.

Looking forward to your update!

Hi Gabrielle

I am going to remove your email address from your question for your privacy and security as this is an open forum.

What happens when you try to view those websites in Firefox? Is there any error message?

Thank you for removing my email address. I did not realize it would be posted on the open forum exactly as I typed it.

No error messages. Nothing at all happens.

On Hulu, the same advertising screen keeps coming up AFTER I sign in. Strangely enough, after I posted my question today, I tried Hulu againon Firefox (as I do every day) and I got right to the home screen without even signing in! I don't understand it. It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

On the Hartford Ins, I get in, but it doesn't show me anything, like my insurance documents or payment schedules. When I use Edge, this problem does not exist.

Hello all, somehow this problem seems to have cleared up over the weekend, without my having to do anything - at least with the two websites I named. Thanks to everyone for your help/suggestions. I will definitely keep them for future use, if necessary.

FYI, before I can sign in to Hulu, I have to clear the cache almost every day. That's probably because I have all kinds of privacy protections set up.

Thanks again, excellent service.
