new mail account not in unified view
this morning i had to add a new email account. it added fine and it works, but i use the unified view for my 5 email accounts. all others show up in this view, but the new account is separate, and i cannot get it to show up in this view. it remains separate at the bottom of the pane. and has its own sent folder as well. how do i get this account included in unified view?

thank you for the advice, i did get it to display all correctly. but i ended up having to delete all folders, (main accounts) and reinstall them in succession. i lost 2 months of sent mail, but i use pop, so the incoming all came back. still dont know why it did this. all i did was to add one new account. same procedure as the other 4. but this one account would not unify. any thoughts as to why for future would be appreciated.

Try this: - highlight unified folder - rightclick and select properties - then, click the choose button and tick the desired account.
thank you, that did cause selected folders to show, but the main account is still separate. i'm just going to try deleting and reinstalling it again.
Reinstalling rarely fixes problems. Please reply with this info: - in unified view for the account, what folders appear? - in the separate showing of account, what folders appear?
Could you possibly do a screenshot with unified folders exposed and the separate account showing folders? Thank you

I regret your loss, as I believe we could have saved them. In final analysis, message folders are just files to Windows and can easily be moved as needed. Accounts appear below the unified folders whenever they have one or more folders that are not named the same as the folders in the other accounts. For example, I have a folder in one of my accounts named 'receipts.' Since the other accounts do not have folders with that name, Thunderbird sets up a separate entry, the intent being to ensure that ALL folders appear in the folder pane.
