This is because gmail requires a separate authentication for email clients. I suggest you do this: - make sure the authentication is Oauth2 - in settings>privacy&security, click savedpasswords and then showpasswords and then highlight rows for that account and delete -close and restart thunderbird and see if Google prompts for password. It will then store an app password for that one PC.
