When I try to use Publisher's Clearing House games on an ACER Chromebook 315 the screen locks up at "please rotate your device" it is a laptop so of course I am not going to rotate it!!

And how is this a Firefox browser issue?

It looks like you are using the Android Firefox version on ChromeOS when Android Firefox is made more for Android phones/tablets in mind.

Perhaps if you were using a Linux version of Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos and various articles around explaining how to install Firefox for Linux on ChromeOS.
