Recently, Firefox has started closing all open tabs between browsing sessions. Not sure why this has happened. Firefox has been my preferred browser but this will force a change to Chrome or Edge.
Why has Firefox recently started closing all open tabs between browsing sessions when the system has not been re-started or updated to my knowledge? This is a major compromise of utility.

In Settings -> General -> Startup, how is "Open previous windows and tabs" marked? For your purposes, I think it should be checked.
Sorry to hear about this problem. Could you check whether either of these are available (not hidden or grayed out):
- "3-bar" menu button > History > Restore Previous Session
- (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session
If they are missing or grayed, check either:
- "3-bar" menu button > History > Recently Closed Windows
- "Library" toolbar button > History > Recently Closed Windows
- (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows
If you find that the missing tabs are in a closed window, it's possible that Firefox isn't shutting down completely -- for example, maybe a hidden window/process continues running.
